Quicken Loans | 615 Lafayette Lobby (Fort Street)
Continuing its renovation, the historic Detroit News Building’s Fort Street lobby is outfitted with various artistic details designed to celebrate its origins and portray the newspaper manufacturing process.
Directly in front of the entrance, a feature wall emulating crumpled paper bears a brightly-lit Quicken Loans logo to immediately immerse visitors in the space’s story + brand. The custom-designed reception desk resembles an assembly line, featuring aluminum fins arranged + printed with advertisements from the turn of the 20th century.
Flanking both ends of the lobby are 17-foot tall chain curtains depicting abstracted images of a printing press, created to visually connect the current workplace to its past. The circular chandelier completes this space with squares of smoked glass hanging from lit rings as if they were fresh off the press and ready for distribution.
