Environmental Graphic Designer

THE POSITION

dPOP’s Environmental Graphic Designer is formally trained with a focus on large-format graphics with understanding of visual storytelling and branding, to create unique design solutions for our clients. This team member is passionate about design and always looking to push their skills to the next level. They have a range of both creative and technical experience, are a highly motivated problem solver, and are able to manage a diverse project load and client base. This person has subject matter expertise in both large and small scale projects and a deep understanding of the necessary steps in each phase to ensure successful project completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with senior design team and leadership to develop innovative design solutions that are reflective of client goals, brand, and culture
  • Ensure designs meet overall design intent and narrative
  • Create custom designs for wallcoverings, large-format graphics, wayfinding, 2D and 3D fabricated designs installations, digital design renderings and mockups
  • Develop expertise on projects based on varying scales of work, scope of projects, and phases of design
  • Interact with clients to understand their existing branding and culture to develop purposeful designs
  • Develop and articulate concepts, layouts and innovative design solutions
  • Participate in design critiques and charrettes with design team and senior leadership
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships built on trust with external clients, vendors, and other construction disciplines
  • Quote materials with high attention to detail, and oversee fabrication and installation
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the interior design and construction process
  • Work within a multitude of existing branding guidelines at once
  • Effectively support team to oversee production and installation of multiple projects
  • Serve as mentor to Associate Environmental Graphic Designer

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in a graphic design role
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in 3D modeling software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino
  • Strong sense of concept development, page layout, and current graphic design trends
  • Ability to sketch and develop concepts
  • Advanced graphic and verbal presentation skills
  • Experience in specifying material for various substrate applications and knowledge of fabrication methods
